1. Eligibility Criteria:
For UG Courses (LL.B):
Qualification: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 or an equivalent exam from a recognized board.
Minimum Marks:
General/OBC/PwD/NRI/PIO/OCI: 45%
SC/ST: 40%
Age Limit: No upper age limit for CLAT UG.
For PG Courses (LL.M):
Qualification: LL.B or an equivalent law degree with a minimum percentage.
General/OBC/PwD/NRI/PIO/OCI: 50%
SC/ST: 45%
Age Limit: No upper age limit for CLAT PG.
2. Exam Pattern:
For UG CLAT (LL.B):
Duration: 2 hours
Mode: Offline (Pen-paper-based)
Total Marks: 150
Question Type: Multiple-choice questions (MCQs)
Total Questions: 150

English (Comprehension-based)
Current Affairs, including General Knowledge
Legal Reasoning
Logical Reasoning
Quantitative Techniques
Marking Scheme:
+1 mark for each correct answer
-0.25 mark for each incorrect answer
For PG CLAT (LL.M):
Total Marks: 120
Question Type: MCQs and Subjective (Essays)
Total Questions: 120 (for MCQs) + 2 Essays (50 marks)
Constitutional Law
Jurisprudence
Other law subjects (Contract, Torts, International Law, Criminal Law, etc.)
+1 mark for each correct MCQ answer
3. Syllabus:
For UG CLAT: Focus on comprehension, reasoning, and general awareness.
For PG CLAT: Advanced knowledge in law subjects, especially Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, and other core legal subjects.
4. Application Process:
The application process is done online through the official website of CLAT.
Candidates need to fill out the application form, upload documents, and pay the application fee online.
5. CLAT Important Dates:
The exam is generally conducted in December (for the academic session starting the next year).
Registration begins around August or September.
6. Application Fees:
General/OBC/PwD/NRI: ₹4,000
SC/ST/BPL: ₹3,500
